These icons are used to vote on replies and threads:

• Clicking on the up vote button will add a positive sentiment to each post and people will be able to see when you've upvoted.
• Clicking on the down vote button will add negative sentiment to a post, but people won't be able to see when you've downvoted. When a post has gotten a certain number of downvotes, it'll be hidden by default for everyone.
